Entrepreneur Spotlight: Angie Adams

“I have not only gained knowledge through taking the course but have gained friendships and a family network that I could not have on my own. Through the 10- week course, I have become more confident and knowledgeable allowing my business to be a success.  The tools LAUNCH provides are there!  You have nothing to lose and so much to gain!”

A creative person at heart, Angie Adams has always loved to cook and entertain. After being told by family and friends over the years that she should open her own restaurant, she finally decided to take the leap.
Angie first heard about the LAUNCH Business Entrepreneurship Academy when she had a studio space at Chattanooga Workspace, where the LAUNCH office is located. Angie explains, “When I decided to start a business, I met with Chattanooga Workspace about renting space for an event and learned that the LAUNCH business class was coming up.  I signed up as soon as I got back home.”
Eager to get her business up and running, Angie was ready to take in everything that she could from the class, “I wanted to soak in as much information as I could get from our teacher, literature, guests, and from the rest of the LAUNCH team.”
Although Angie is able to cook a variety of ethnic foods, she aims to share her Filipino culture through Calamansi Cafe, a Filipino-American Fusion pop-up restaurant and catering company. It’s more than just food to Angie. For those of us who have had an opportunity to taste her creations, her passion for sharing her culture, as well as love, clearly comes through each dish she creates.
“I want to share my love, family, and culture through food and create a place where you feel at home regardless of where you come from or who you are.  I want to create interest, open minds, and excite taste buds to want to savor all different kinds of food and learn about the people who create them, their culture, history, and story.  Food is universal and I believe in bringing people together at the dinner table.  I want people to feel like they are coming over to our house for dinner.”
Angie credits LAUNCH for helping her move through the business world. “Without LAUNCH I don't believe I would have gotten as far as I am today, at least not as quickly as I have. Taking the course has been one of the best decisions I have made towards starting my business and has been a launching pad for Calamansi Cafe.”
She continues, “I have not only gained knowledge through taking the course but have gained friendships and a family network that I could not have on my own. Through the 10- week course, I have become more confident and knowledgeable allowing my business to be a success.  The tools LAUNCH provides are there!  You have nothing to lose and so much to gain!”
