Youth Pitch Competition Results
Last month, LAUNCH hosted our annual Youth Pitch competition at Brainerd High School. 38 Brainerd students participated in the entrepreneurship course over the fall and spring semesters, and the top 6 teams, a total of 17 students, were chosen to pitch in the competition. The winning teams were awarded prizes of laptops, chromebooks, and tablets.
The winning idea was The DEWS Project, a non-profit designed to help revitalize neighborhoods while teaching teenagers a trade and keeping them off the streets.
Second place was awarded to Crumb Snatchers. This protective covering for the backseat of a car is a waterproof, washable, double layered mat that catches crumbs and spills.
Karz Service won third place with their idea for a car diagnostic tool that alerts owners of older-model cars when there is a drop in tire pressure, and immediately translates all codes when the check engine light comes on.
All of the groups that presented in the Youth Pitch competition did an amazing job, and we are constantly amazed at the ingenuity and innovation of students when given the space to use their imaginations and creativity to solve problems.
